INTERVIEW
I started with interviews to get a better understanding of user needs and their expectations.
I have so much unexpressed love for my parents and friends that I haven't been able to express properly. If one day I suddenly leave this world, I don't want these things to be buried with me.
As I age, my thoughts and mentality change. I want to record them. I think it is necessary to record process of growth, and people can use this to understand themselves better.
People die twice, once is life, and once is oblivion. An autobiography is a great way to record my life and make sure I won't be forgotten.
I hope this app can relieve my anxiety: fearing that my family members will suddenly suffer misfortune. I hope to know my loved one's most sincere and authentic identity. I hope the system isn't troublesome to use and I hope there is very bright and colorful interfaces.
I would like a guide to show me what to upload to the system. For example, you could create sections such as important experiences and the most meaningful object, and restrict the number of uploads. That way I won't have to worry about deciding what to upload.
What if you make a timeline and allow people archive things, so even people no longer want these things uploaded, they can still look back to what they have uploaded before, in a certain age or period. It would be really interesting if the people around me could write a comment, or even upload a video sharing our story from their perspective.
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
PERSONA
I applied experience mapping and posture analysis to develop a persona that captures key interactions throughout the moving process, along with the associated emotional journey. This helped me identify pain points and clarify areas of focus: 1). Exploring technologies that enable interactive and immersive reflection capture. 2). Designing intuitive navigation for creating and organizing experiences.
FUNCTIONALITY BRAINSTORMING
After gaining a clear understanding of user needs and usage scenarios, I shifted my focus to defining the app’s core functionalities and identifying the most suitable platforms for implementation. To inform these decisions, I conducted heuristic research and developed use case ideation, SKU matrix, and contextual ideation to analyze how users document reflections and experiences. They helped me ensure that the proposed features are grounded in user behavior and real-world contexts.
